Empowering Women: The Unique Mission of LDEI Italy

LDEI Italy

For the past two years, the Italian chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International—known as LDEI Italy—has been based in Florence, the vibrant heart of art, culture, and cuisine. This initiative reflects the spirit and mission of a unique global association that brings together accomplished women in food, wine, hospitality, and tourism.

Founded in 2022, the Tuscan Italian Chapter now aims to become a national network. It seeks to engage and inspire professionals across the country. Its goal is ambitious. The Chapter wants to grow a vibrant community of women who champion innovation, education, and networking. They also aim to make a tangible impact in the culinary and hospitality sectors with expertise and passion.

The creation of the Italian Chapter marks LDEI’s global expansion. It is also an opportunity to elevate the role of women in industries where their contributions are often under-recognized. The Chapter actively encourages collaboration among established professionals. It supports the next generation through scholarships, mentorship, and programs promoting inclusion and forward-thinking leadership.

ViviFirenze 2025: A Global Gathering in the Heart of Tuscany

A key upcoming milestone for the Chapter will be ViviFirenze 2025, scheduled for September next year. For the first time, the Italian Chapter will host and organize this international event. It will offer Dames from other chapters worldwide an immersive experience in Florence, seen through a fresh and authentic lens.

More than just a destination, Florence will become a stage where history and modernity meet. ViviFirenze 2025 aims to go beyond clichés. The event will shine a light on lesser-known local treasures. It will create moments of connection, learning, and cultural exchange among LDEI professionals.

Scholarships: Investing in the Future by LDEI Italy

The Italian Chapter is committed to growth and talent development. It proudly offers scholarships for young women pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. A €1,000 voucher is currently available to support the purchase of books or professional courses and training.

Firm believers in the power of lifelong learning, LDEI Italy sees this initiative as just the beginning of a broader effort to support and elevate emerging female talent in the world of gastronomy and hospitality.

Toward a National Network

Rooted in Tuscany’s rich traditions and looking to expand across the country, the Italian Chapter is working to build a nationwide network of women in food, wine, tourism, and hospitality.

Being a member of LDEI is not just a privilege—it’s a responsibility: to lead, to inspire, and to be a pioneer in a sector that is rapidly evolving,” says Silvia Mariani, founder and President of the Chapter.

Through events, mentorship opportunities, and training initiatives, the Chapter seeks to foster a more inclusive and dynamic professional ecosystem—one that celebrates excellence while opening new doors for women at every stage of their careers.
