The event has earned great acclaim in the wine world and attracts numerous producers and visitors.
Pinot Noir Days 2025
The 27th edition will take place in the wine villages of Egna and Montagna. It showcases all the wines from the National Pinot Noir Competition held in early May.
This year’s focus is on the 2022 vintage, featuring 116 wines from:
- Trentino
- Valle d’Aosta
- Veneto
- Friuli-Venezia Giulia
- Piemonte
- Lombardia
- Toscana
- Umbria
- Sicilia
- Alto Adige
“Thanks to this wide geographical spread, we can give our audience an idea of how diverse Pinot Noir can be depending on terroir, tradition, and style; I’m certain there will be some delightful surprises, and this year we have reached a record number of wines for tasting, which is very satisfying,” says Ines Giovanett, President of the Organizing Committee of the event.

Program
The event kicks off on Friday, May 16th, with an award ceremony for the competition winners at Castello di Enna in Montagna. “The competition is a moment to celebrate the historical significance of a grape variety that has shaped our country’s winemaking tradition, and the extraordinary quality of the judges involved. Their experience and expertise guarantee a careful and rigorous selection,” emphasizes Marc Pfitscher, Vice President of the Organizing Committee and responsible for the Competition.
Following the opening ceremony, all wines from the competition will be available for tasting at Klösterle di Laghetti in Egna from 4 PM to 6 PM. Participants must register on the Pinot Noir Days website (www.blauburgunder.it) to attend.
Masterclasses and Rare Tastings
Exciting side events await all lovers and connoisseurs. On Saturday, May 17th, two masterclasses will take place. The first focuses on cultivating Italian Pinot Noir with sommelier Roberto Anesi. The second is a vertical tasting at Tenuta Castelfeder, featuring eight limited edition labels from four decades, led by winemaker Ivan Giovanett. These wines were not presented at the Competition. The masterclass program concludes on Sunday with cellar master Hans Terzer presenting the “Top of Pinot Noir Alto Adige” event.
Guided excursions of the Pinot Noir Experience in Glen and Mazon are also available. New this year are the “Pinot Noir & Bike” events on Sunday and Monday, along with an intriguing sparkling wine tasting scheduled at various times.
